Wax (a demo)

I’ve been waiting to cry, it’s been weeks now

Lay on a couch watching clouds move

Watch them unveil a half-full moon

And I’ve been touching the arms of a pine tree

Asking my bones why they’re lonely

Asking my bones if they’ll keep me safe

See I had you, but I threw it away

Traded your body for time

See I warned you,

You can say what you like, at least the damage is mine

Now I’ve been riding a bike in the dark streets

Scraping the mud off of my sleeves

Scraping the blood from imagined scenes

And I’ve been burning a candle for days now

Wax thickening on the table

Wax making home where it knows I won’t

See I had you, but I threw it away

Traded your body for time

See I warned you,

You can say what you like, at least the damage is mine

So where, so where, so where can I go now?

So where, so where, so where can I go now?

Because I’ve been waiting to cry, it’s been weeks now

And there’s wax thickening on the table

I’d scrape it off but I don’t know how
